We participated in the school-based deworming program given by the DOH being held at 2 of Maras' Elementary School and 1 high school, wherein children were given 1 tablet of Albendazole for deworming purposes. Currently though, a positive case of filariasis was found in our area, and considering that, the filariasis control program was merged with the deworming program wherein children according to their ages were given a pill or more. The deworming program is conducted twice a year during the month of January and July and as an ambassador of health, it was our duty to assist in the following activity making sure the children did their part in drinking the medicine, to those whose parents consented to.
