Due to the increasing amount of pregnant teenagers, well not only in our area but most probably around the world, and the alarming spread of HIV in the Philippines alone making Philippines number one in Asia Pacific. Advocacies are conducted in high schools every January to educate them on the dangers of acquiring sexually communicable disease as well as the burden they become to their households whilst being pregnant at a very young age. A demonstration was performed with the youth as a participant, for them to visualize how rapid the spread of HIV is from one person to about 20 individuals in a single night even I was slightly shook. Slides were presented on how HIV is transmitted and and how it would cease to spread avoiding certain risky behaviours. They looked like they were nice enough a child could be to not do those unnecessary deeds. But still, you never know how kids these days think hence the advocacies.
